Where YUK0R comes from, and where it's going.

10 Sep 2026

Where it started

As a kid I loved sport, all kinds of it. Mountain biking was one of the bigger ones, but I would try anything. What I was missing was never the wanting. It was structure: a plan I could follow that led to a race, so that I would actually get there. Without one, I trained a bit, stopped, started again, and the races stayed things I meant to do. Not for lack of interest. For lack of a plan.

The same problem, three times

Later I travelled. Every month the setup changed: a new city, a gym or no gym, different food, a different rhythm. Every app I tried assumed a life that stayed still. Mine didn't, so the plans fell apart within a week, and the habit with them.

Then I started building a company, and tried to get fit and get somewhere at the same time. There it was again. Too much to do, too many places to do it, and nothing that held it together. A food app here, a training app there, a calendar somewhere else, none of them aware of the others. The person in the middle was doing all the work.

The lesson

Building the company taught me what those three had in common. The people who get somewhere are not more talented. They have a system, and they keep it. Consistency beats everything. Once I understood that for training, I saw it everywhere: in the business, in learning, in the small things that make a day good.

And it raised the question that became YUK0R. If a system is what matters, why is every part of a life sitting in a separate app that knows nothing about the rest? The power is in combining them. One system will never be the best at any single thing. That was never the point.

The phone

There was one more thing I noticed along the way. I was on my phone for hours a day, and almost none of it gave anything back. Not the feeds, not the tenth app that promised to fix something. Between us we carry tens of thousands of apps, and we are addicted to the thing that holds them.

Most of that time went into other people's lives. How well they were doing, where they were, what adventures they were on. For a long time I thought that was how you found the things you wanted to do. It isn't. You are far happier when you stop watching other people live and go live your own. The dream you actually have is enough; it never needed a feed to compare it against.

So I set a second bar for whatever I built: it had to make me use my phone less, not more. If an app can cut your screen time, get you outside, and still move your life forward, that is a win on both sides.

What YUK0R is

YUK0R is the one place I actually want to go. I care about simplicity. The Japanese call it kanso: a thing should show only what is needed and nothing more. Apple at its best works the same way, putting on the screen exactly what belongs there. YUK0R is built like that: minimal, quiet, never shouting for attention.

What it covers is what you actually meet in a day. The outdoors. Your fitness. Your food. The routines and habits you build around them. Done right, together, they add up to the thing that matters most: a longer, healthier life.

Underneath sits one system. It gives you a plan and always knows what is next, based on where you want to go. And on top of it there is a coach you can ask anything. Because it has the context from every one of those fields, it answers you, not a template. That is pretty much it.

That is why it is built on a rule that runs against every other app on your phone: we win when your screen time goes down. No streaks, no scores, nothing designed to keep you here. You open it, you see the next step, you close it and go live your day.

What happens next

Right now YUK0R is being tested before release, and I am still iterating on the app. If you really want to try it and help test it, you can request early access on this site. As soon as the basics work smoothly and the App Store has approved it, it will be publicly available.

From there, more features will come. And I hope it grows into a like-minded community: a place where people connect and achieve their things, whatever they set out to do.
